This article was completely over my head, recommended by Ben Allen, but little bits did get through to me.  It was a mathematical argument for, as it says, the role of sex in evolution, an extension of some informal theoretical work by Crow and Kimura &amp;quot; who suggested briefly, based on intuition, that sex favored &amp;quot;good mixers&amp;quot;&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
