Science as a Craft Industry Freeman Dyson Science 1998 Dyson makes the argument that, as industrialization has squeezed out handcrafted products, the crafts have moved tot he bleeding edge of technology. he describes his daughter in biotech as a craftswomen, working for, essentially, a boutique lab that makes specialized speciifc products for larger corps. When all the tech is figured out, it will be consolidated and the crafts will migrate further out to the edge. While I like his characterization of science as the new craft, I can't imagine my friends in print and bookbinding will appreciate it.
