Communitarianism and the Logic of the Commons Baden 1977

Really cool paper examing the communalist history of the Mormans, Hutterites and Chinese. It determines that the Mormon and Chinese projects were unsuccessful and the Hutterites were very successful. It attributes success in each case to the design of institutions in a way that acknowledges human motivation and limits. Simultaneously sympthatic to community and clear in its critique.
